The warmth of the vigorous Summer Sun meets the cool shade of the oak trees at Willow Herbal Delight Gardens in Valrico on Sunday, July 26 (rain date of August 2), from 10am – 5pm at the Tropical Delight Plant Faire.  The free environmental fair will include vendors selling organic and naturally grown herbs, pepper plants and other veggie starts, Florida Native plants, butterfly plants, and edible tropical plants.  You’ll also find Herbal vinegars, honey, hot pepper sauces, tea blends: Nature art and garden art: garden hats and cotton/hemp clothing for the whole family: organic gardening supplies including heirloom seeds: local raw honey, artisan bread, free range chicken eggs and goat milk products; Natural soaps, salves, and skin care products; Books on organic gardening, sustainability, Florida Native plants, herbal growing and healing, seed saving, garden calendars, and children’s books on gardening, Nature, and flower fairies!  There will be lots of free resources and networking information, and local environmental groups.  Local band KEY OF LIFE will a liven us with Island music from the Caribbean and Hawaii . 

Kids’ activities will feature a Children’s Garden Procession to music from KEY OF LIFE, “Bees for Life” beehive/honeycomb demonstration by beekeeper John Stonehouse, and various activities like leaf stencils and flower pressing. 

 A scrumptious Natural Food Court of vegetarian delights include wood-fired organic pizza, veggie and oat burgers, watermelon gazpacho and fresh summer rolls, nut pates and dips, raw treats and Island deserts, organic snow cones and fruit smoothies, as well as fair trade organic coffee and teas.  We will be collecting dry/canned goods for local food banks and migrant farm worker communities, so please be as generous as you can.  Thank you.
