URBAN FARMSTEADING

You may have seen the Fox 13 segment last year on my food self sufficiency yard in south Tampa. I have been asked to teach classes covering the basics of the urban farm steading I have been developing since the early 1980s to empower folks with better food and greater prosperity in good economic times, and greater security in lean times like these. While I will provide a useful handout, please bring a notepad and pen as we will cover many points in detail. Free seeds will be shared at the beginning of the class to help get you started. Feel free to use a camera to record key features you find especially useful.

I am teaching the class twice in March, on the 8th and the 22nd, from 10 AM until 1 PM. I have been admonished often for undercharging, so this class fee is $45, or $40 per person in groups of four or more who car pool due to limited parking. My address is: 3212 West Paxton Avenue Tampa 33611, phone is: 813 839 0881. E-mail is: JohnAStarnes@msn.com
My goal is to share how we can turn a demanding yard that gives us little back for all the mowing and watering, and transform it in stages into a source of fresh organic food all year round. All my meals begin with a fresh harvest from my landscape...let me show you how easy that can be!
